Garry Gum and his wife Pauline have been involved in farming for over 30 years; cereal cropping and commercial sheep breeding for wool and prime lamb in the mid-north of South Australia at Booleroo Centre.
Garry is a third generation farmer from the Booleroo Centre area and was introduced to sheep breeding at an early age. His keen interest in breeding sheep has progressed over many years and his interest in the Suffolk sheep has culminated in the establishment of the stud.
Garry and Pauline purchased the property ‘Yankaponga’ in 2002 and this gave them the opportunity to establish the Wattle Wood Springs Suffolk Stud.
The name Wattle Wood Springs is derived from; Wattle Flat the location of Yankaponga, Fleetwood – their property at Booleroo Centre and springs from the large number of natural springs scattered over the property at Yankaponga.
