How did it start .......
Just to give a bit of background about us; Garry and Pauline Gum and the establishment of the stud in 2006. It all started with the purchase of rams and ewes from Broughton Lodge Suffolk Stud from Crystal Brook and ewes from Pine Ridge Suffolk Stud at Strathalbyn. Garry's main aim has been to produce sheep that develop good growth under a variety of conditions. To date the rams produced at Wattle Wood Springs have shown excellent length and muscle density.
In 2008 Garry purchased a top ram from the Pine Ridge Suffolk Stud with what he considered to be great length and muscle qualities . This added further depth to his matings. Then in 2009 a ram with a very robust frame and strong structure was purchased from the Allendale stud in Keith.
- Ram from Brechinridge stud purchased in September 2012.
- Ram from Nobel-Lee stud purchased in 2013.
- Ram purchased from the Bowen stud, NSW, at the 2014 Royal Adelaide Show.
- Ram purchased from Pine Ridge Suffolks, Strathalbyn in 2015.
